ACTIVATING THE ALTAR OF APPRECIATION & WORSHIP

BREAD OF LIFE SERVICE - by Tony Olukoyede
7-9am Every Thursday
TOPIC: ACTIVATING THE ALTAR OF APPRECIATION & WORSHIP
DATE: March 3, 2011
GENESIS 35 : 1 – 15 ; NUMBERS 23: 17 - 30
      Introduction
From generation to generation, the word of God declares: “Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.                                                                                            Psalm 150:6
The only one thing that God demands from man is to give Him all the glory. All glory belongs to the Living God! He is the Immortal, the Invisible, the Immovable, the Unchangeable and the Only Wise God!.
Every prevailing prayer must begin with praise and worship, and end in praise and worship. Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour taught His disciples this all important Kingdom principle for effective prayer lifestyle.
Hear Him: “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.”                                                                                                                                         Matthew 6:9
There must be non-negotiable recognition, appreciation and adoration of the Living God as our heavenly Father who has become our Father through Christ Jesus.
Everywhere He went, Abraham raised up altars of appreciation and worship to the Living God! The significance of this is to acknowledge and establish God’s supremacy and sovereignty over all other gods! In other words, it signifies the super-imposition of God’s everlasting Kingdom over all others.
My prayer today is that the Kingdom of God will be established in all areas of your life endeavours and His praise shall continually be in your mouth in Jesus’ mighty name!

      THINGS TO NOTE:
1.     The foundation of every altar raised to God should be His appreciation and worship.
2.     The altar of appreciation and worship of God will cause all other opposing altars and kingdoms to fail.
3.     Real difficult situations are straightened out and solutions provided through the altar of appreciation and worship to the Living God.
4.     To continually live in victory, you must endeavor to continually raise up altars of appreciation and worship to the Most High God.

PRAYER POINTS
1.   Genesis 8:20, 21  - “And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.  And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

2.   Judges 6:25, 26 - And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Take thy father's young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it:  And build an altar unto the LORD thy God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down.”
Prayer Points:
·      Lord, by virtue of your supremacy and sovereignty over all things, I pull down every contrary altar in opposition to your way and to your will in my life, in Jesus’ mighty name!

3.   1 Samuel 5:3, 4“And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.  And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.”
Prayer Points:
·      Father, by the reason of your manifest presence and glory in my life, let every spirit operation, and manifestation of Dagon in my life be dislodged, in Jesus’ mighty name!

4.   Psalm 79:13 – “So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations.”

6.   2 Chronicles 20:22, 23 – “And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.  For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.”
Prayer Points:
·      Lord, by the power of your appreciation, praise and worship in my mouth, cause major confusions and devastations in my enemies’ camp, and bring their conspiracy against me to perpetual destruction, in Jesus’ mighty name!

7.   Matthew 6:13 – “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”
